Welcome to this quarter's issue of Indie Bites! It’s packed full of seven exclusive short stories from indie authors on the themes of Bandits & Botany, plus an interview with indie author Jaime Ryanne.

This issue features the following short fiction:

- Four Gifts for the Witch of the Wood and One for the Wolf by Arden Powell

- The Ranger and the Thief by Emmylou Kotzé

- What Lives Within a Rose by Allie Leigh

- Threads and Vines by Josie Jaffrey

- Where the Roots Remember by Crystal St. Clair

- A Fistful of Dahlias by Adie Hart

- Daffodils and Daves by Ceril N. Domace

In these pages, you’ll find plants with lethal powers and the magic of memories, warring gardeners and flower-stealing bandits, precocious youths and ancient trees, and, of course, witches and wizards and wolves.

Some of our authors have leaned into the life-giving side of nature, and some into its dark and terrible potentials, but all seven showcase the flourishing breadth of our indie fantasy community.

On top of all that, we also have an interview with fantastic indie author Jaime Ryanne.

So let’s get botanical. There’s plenty here to sink your teeth into.

About our featured author

Author Ceril N Domace

Jaime Ryanne (JAY-me REE-on) writes fantasy romance featuring competent heroines of color, secondary world settings with modern touches, and plenty of spice. There’s usually angst involved, but it always comes with a happy ending.

She is a Korean American adoptee living in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two cats. When she isn’t writing, if she’s sitting then she’s probably knitting (or spinning yarn. Actual yarn, not tales). She loves fountain pens, collecting notebooks, and wishes her enthusiasm for gardening was reflected in the actual results.
