Welcome to this quarter's issue of Indie Bites! It's packed full of ten exclusive short stories from indie authors on the themes of Castles & Curses, plus an interview with indie author Talli L. Morgan.
This issue features the following short fiction:
- A Curse Is on Her If She Stay by Lila Gwynn
- Trouble Brewing by Adie Hart
- Sir Fionnobhar the Black and the Becastled Knight by Arden Powell
- A King and a Pawn by Tabitha O’Connell
- The Red Lady by Josie Jaffrey
- Lady Pallen's Kiss by Ceril N. Domace
- The Blessing of Vampires by D.N. Bryn
- The Two Henrys and the Tailor by Gemma Church
- How To Rescue A Princess by Alice James
- Mother of Calamities by T.R. Peers
In these pages you’ll find sleeping princesses and hard-working witches, dramatic vampires and righteous adventurers, and all the curses (and blessings!) that lurk around a royal residence.
This is our longest issue yet, with ten fantastic stories for you to enjoy. While some of our authors take inspiration from classic fairy tales or literature, others have opted for a more modern setting – you’ll find Sleeping Beauty and the Lady of Shalott rubbing shoulders with tabletop RPG characters and vampires surviving after the fall of civilisation.
So let’s get cursed. There’s plenty here to sink your teeth into.

About our featured author
Talli L. Morgan lives in upstate New York and works as a librarian. They received their Bachelor’s Degree in English from Allegheny College, where they spent two years as an editor for the student-run literary magazine. When they’re not writing, Talli enjoys drawing, photography, and painstakingly reorganizing their bookshelves. They firmly believe that buying books and reading them are two entirely separate hobbies, and they are certainly better at one of those things over the other.
The Oracle Stone (2021) was their first published book, but rest assured they have written many others.

To download your FREE copy of Indie Bites Issue 9, just click on the file format you'd like to download. If you read on Apple devices or most other e-readers, then you want the EPUB. If you read on an older Kindle, you might want the MOBI format. For all other devices, we recommend the PDF.
You can purchase print copies from Amazon here. We charge only enough to cover print costs, so there's no profit for us. This quarter we have a bumper issue, so the print costs are a little higher than normal.
